June: Meta Platform Debut – Unleashing the Sugar Mess
Embarking on a thrilling journey, Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle made its debut on the Meta platform on June 1. This significant milestone was a result of meticulous concept creation, visual design, game development, testing, playtests, feedback collection, and gameplay refinement. The release included 10 vibrant levels, showcasing four distinct mechanics and two powerful bosses. It was showing a fascinating story about friendship and betrayal.
September: Steam Next Fest 2023 + Demo Unveiling
As autumn unfolded, Sugar Mess VR game embraced exciting news. For the Steam Next Fest 2023, we released a free demo on Steam, granting enthusiasts a firsthand experience of the game. The celebration of the upcoming games was accompanied by many hours of livestreams creating an immersive experience for gaming enthusiasts.
October: Tokyo Game Show – Sugar Mess Making Waves in Japan
Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle took part in one of the biggest gaming events and it was the Tokyo Game Show 2023! This year, 243,248 people visited the exhibition over 4 days. Our team presented our arcade FPS for the whole family. We’ve met a lot of fun and creative people, made contacts with some industry giants, shared our work and collected feedback right away. It was an honor to share, talk and debate features in the gaming industry with professionals, game lovers, developers and fans.
November: Nordic Game Helsinki – A Showcase of Creativity
For several days Nordic Game festival turns into a hub of creativity and ideas. The industry leaders, XR enthusiasts, start-ups, and scale-ups come together to explore a good portion of games, build market knowledge, and share feedback. On November 28, 2023, we had the honor of presenting our pitch, unveiling the sweet planet of our VR game, and detailing the noble mission of the prince in this sugary adventure. On November 29, 2023, the spotlight shifted to the showcasing of our game and its features, captivating a diverse audience of participants.
December: Steam VR Fest – An Immersive Experience
Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle was spotlighted in the Steam VR Fest lineup. The Steam VR Fest is a dedicated event designed to highlight virtual reality content, featuring presentations of new game demos, exclusive discounts, and sneak peeks at upcoming releases. The players had the chance to try the VR game demo, to experience static shooting mechanics and an environment where cake mobs are constantly attacking them. They have to fend off all of the mobs to pass to another level while driving a minecart.
Late 2023: Pico Dev Jam Triumph – Chapter II Revelation
“Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle. Chapter II” project was named the Best Game App for the region of North America, South America, Oceania & Pacific at Pico Dev Jam 2023. It also took 5th place in the overall standings in the region. This second part of the VR game builds upon the foundation of Chapter I, promising an even more exciting and immersive journey.
December: Pico Platform Debut – Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle Expanding Horizons
Marking a significant milestone, the JollyCo team takes pride in expanding its VR game presence onto the PICO platform by releasing the game and the Demo in December 2023. This step hopefully solidifies the position of JollyCo as a new player in the VR gaming industry.
